Even with the impact of a dramatic increase in state pension costs passed down from the State Comptroller, the Manlius Town Board's long-term financial planning has led to a lower tax rate for Town residents.

Town Government May Not Be Very Exciting, But Responsible Leadership Has Saved You Money.

•  The Town tax rate is lower than it was in 2002.

•  The Town tax rate decreased by 7% for 2008.

•  Town tax is the lowest tax you pay.

•  Manlius is the only local municipality that regularly tries to cut the tax rate to offset property tax assessment increases.

•  Manlius provides excellent services to all residents, including one of the best local Police forces, great roads and excellent recreational programs for children and senior citizens.

•  In 2005 Manlius created a Trash District that saves residents almost $1 million dollars per year...an agreement that was just extended for another two years...and nothing stinks about that!

•  Your Republican Town Councilors are always looking for ways to make government more efficient, such as the Citizen Task Force on Consolidation and Inter-municipal Cooperation.
